Great Lakes Center for the Arts

Performing Arts Center

Bay Harbor, Michigan // 33,500 sq. ft.

The Great Lakes Center for the Arts is a home for music and performing arts. Surrounded by the distinct landscape of Northern Michigan, The Great Lakes Center for the Arts resides within the established community of Bay Harbor. Views of the harbor are intentionally preserved and celebrated. The outdoor environment unites with the interior space and encourages engagement and use of the building. A world-class auditorium, stage, and acoustical design provide a distinguished guest experience and attract performers. Exceptional design and quality finish create a timeless footprint that showcases music, dance, and performing arts. TowerPinkster worked with the Center to design a destination for cultural performances and events around the nation. The design also creates the perfect venue for private occasions, with a private lounge reserved exclusively for donors. The space also features a banquet hall, an outdoor tented patio, and retail space.

TowerPinkster collaborated closely with strategic consulting partner DeVos Institute of Arts Management at the University of Maryland, as well as the Center’s Co-Chairs, General Contractor, The Christman Company, and Fisher Dachs Associates. The Center opened in July of 2018 and is already running year-round performance programs.
