Children come to school every day with a variety of needs. Our designs support these needs by offering healthy, sustainable, flexible, and efficient spaces, so you can spend less time worrying about your buildings and more time educating kids. From preschool through high school, each school and community has its own unique needs. We work to design facilities that reflect your mission while achieving goals.

Shepherd Public Schools

Districtwide Renovations
Location:
Shepherd, Michigan
Size:
139,000 SF
Description:
Cost-effective and creative solutions were designed to address Shepherd’s facility challenges. At the elementary, 16 new classrooms replace portables; the existing gym was renovated into a media center which better serves students and the community; and a new gym/cafeteria was designed as a more economical solution.

Shepherd also has a strong drama/music program and the existing high school "gymatorium" was not supporting student needs (acoustics and lobby amenities). The gymatorium was converted to an auditorium which includes a new events entry and lobby space – also shared with the new competition and auxiliary gyms. Stadium renovations were also necessary - the track was out-of-date and students were not allowed to compete on it (state regulations).
