More than 60 years of design innovation.

Since 1953, TowerPinkster has been creating vibrant places for people to live, work and play. Our doors opened with just six people, and now we have over 90 of the best employees in Michigan. As a diverse, talent-based design firm, it is our mission to create unique environments with our clients and communities.

No two days are the same around our offices, but our philosophy about what we do and how we do it remains constant. Through teamwork and collaboration, we are committed to designing exceptional, high-performance environments within our client’s goals. We love what we do, and we look forward to every unique challenge.

Recently, TowerPinkster was named one of the "101 Best and Brightest Companies to Work for in the Nation" (National Association of Business Resources). We were also awarded “Best Firm to Work For in the Nation!” (ZweigWhite) and the 2014 “Firm of the Year” by the American Institute of Architects, Grand Rapids Chapter. Our Team

Not your father’s architecture and engineering firm.

It’s our people who make us different. Meet our team members! »

It is not an accident that TowerPinkster was just named the Best Firm to Work For in The Nation. Our firm culture is intentional; it is at the center of all that we do and sets us apart. Our supportive work environment is a major factor in retaining top talent, producing quality work, and consistently exceeding client expectations. Every employee takes part in defining who we are and what we do by providing input, offering feedback, and actively participating in the creation of our family culture.

Our leadership team has made sustaining this family culture a top priority and is supported by our Culture Advisory Action Team. This group plans initiatives such as our incentive-based wellness program, employee feedback surveys, and monthly team luncheons, to name a few. It is through these activities that our team members form strong bonds and foster personal connections. The result? An award-winning culture made up of fantastic people who truly enjoy coming to work every day.

Sustainability

Going green is a common sense approach.

We are committed to making a difference in the world by creating sustainable facilities. In fact, our Kalamazoo office was the first LEED-Certified architecture office in Michigan and our Grand Rapids office recently achieved LEED Platinum! Additionally, more than half of our employees are LEED-accredited. We practice what we preach.

From geothermal and solar, to using recycled materials and maximizing daylight, we can help you determine the right solutions for your building. In the end, it’s about doing what’s right for the environment, and for the people within the building.

Healthy buildings mean healthy people…and that’s common sense.

Community

A culture focused on community.

We believe that collaboration among people of different backgrounds, cultures and experiences results in designs that better reflect the communities we serve. And promoting diversity isn’t just the right thing to do – it’s critical to the future of our firm and our industry.

We also demonstrate our commitment through grants, mentoring programs and scholarships that encourage women and minorities to pursue careers in our industry. In fact, TowerPinkster is a member firm and actively involved in the West Michigan Minorities in Architecture and Engineering Construction organization.

Giving Back

It’s one thing to say you give back...

...it’s another to make it a part of your culture. On any given day, you’ll find one of our employees judging a Mites Competition, teaching in the Ace Mentoring program, helping out with Big Brothers Big Sisters, or building a house for Habitat for Humanity.

We take a hands-on approach to volunteering that brings us closer to our communities. In fact, each year, our employees are given a full day to donate time to the organization of their choice, averaging over 570 volunteer hours each year!

We make financial commitments, too. Here are just a few of the scholarships we support and have helped create:

  • University of Michigan Taubman College of Architecture and Urban Planning
  • Grand Valley State University Endowment Fund
  • Western Michigan University College of Engineering
  • Kalamazoo College Sustainability Scholarship
  • Ferris State University – Kendall College of Art and Design: TowerPinkster Interior Design Endowed Scholarship
